Default Specification:
Each person will receive a number of tokens that can be "kept" or "invested." On the next page, you will choose what the endowment of tokens is for each round, and the amount earned for each token kept. In addition, each person may earn money based on the total numbers of tokens invested by all members of their group, regardless of whether or not they invested any tokens. The most common setup is for this common return to be zero unless the total invested by all group members is greater than or equal to a "target" or provision-point. In this setup, you would specify a target number of tokens and a positive return for each person in the group if the target is met. The default settings are for two treatments, each with a single provision point, but with a higher target in the second treatment.
Multiple Provision Points:
The program also allows the option of having multiple provision points. For example, you could set a provision point of 10 tokens, which provides a payoff of $5 for each person, and a second provision point of 20 tokens with a payoff of $8 if the higher target is reached. In this case, the payoff would be $0 if the total is below 10, $5 if the total is greater than or equal to 10 and below 20, and $8 (not $8 + $5) if the total is above 20. Additional provision points result in additional payoff "steps." Please specify the number of provision points for each treatment.
